WSMO for the Internet of Services (WSMO4IoS) is a well-defined set of simple base ontologies expressed as WSML files which facilitate the description of tradeable and shareable services. Non-functional properties are especially considered in this approach. The ConQo discovery explicitly supports some of the concepts defined in the base ontologies and transparently supports management of the others, including domain-specific additional concepts.

WSMO4IoS is currently under development as it represents a consolidation of individual ontology developments for describing certain service aspects. A student task is being offered to this extent at TUD.

Current WSMO4IoS base ontologies:

  • QoS - e.g., price and general non-measurable quality aspects
  • SystemQoS - e.g., system load and other locally measurable metrics
  • RemoteQoS - e.g., availability and other remote measurable metrics
  • Context - e.g., location
  • Reputation
  • Static metadata: e.g., provider attributes as used for SLA transformation

Current domain ontologies:

  • MPWS quality values
  • Hotel booking, print services, file hosting, format conversion etc.
  • UI services
  • Subdomains for UI services defined through the CRUISe project
