Privacy Cage

Note: This component is currently maintained as part of SPACE but should rather be considered to be an external tool which is only useful in some combinations.

PrivacyCage traces web services on the operating system level and reports on violations of predefined policies. Such policies can include attempts to establish contacts with the outside world, thus potentially violating privacy agreements (hence the name), but also the number of times the hard disk is accessed.

Technologies

The application itself is written in Python as an extension for and wrapper around Subterfugue. A small web application for setting up policies has been written in PHP.

Download/Version Control

Before a stable release becomes available, a Git checkout from the Code Repository will be required.
