Projects >> Internet of Services Desktop Extension
Service consumers like to interact with their services in the environment which they already
know and use. Typically, this means a graphical desktop environment with desktop characteristics such
as application directory, installation wizard, notifications and communication tools.
The Internet of Services desktop (IoS desktop) connects the SPACE platform services to the
corresponding desktop components so that service consumers do not have to leave the desktop environment.
The particular implementation extends the desktop environment KDE with a services tab in the
application launcher, a get-new-services dialogue, a service contract negotiation/configuration tool
and a service frontend delivery mechanism. Furthermore, it allows user to configure their service
marketplaces of choice and to watch notifications about their contracts.
